Two pictures of a Suhoor bill in a restaurant in the Fifth Settlement in Egypt have caused a sensation and widespread controversy on social media over the past two days, due to its high price.

The price of the suhoor meal amounted to more than 16 thousand pounds (more than 800 US dollars), which is a large number, especially since the meal contains popular types of Egyptian food, including beans, falafel, eggs, potatoes and cheese, in addition to mineral water, juices and soft water.

The image of the exorbitant bill roamed social networking sites between irony and surprise, and the question about the reason for its high price?

One of the activists of the communication sites mocked the price of the bill, commenting: "Is the Suhoor loan halal", while another said: "I would have said that this number is in (Lebanese) pounds, but I knew that the incident in the Fifth Settlement is ours in Egypt."

While another person's account said: "Foul and falafel are more than 4000 pounds, why," while another commented: "It is eggs that always cause us problems with suhoor bills!

Mahmoud Al-Badri, nicknamed "the richest young man in Egypt", who works in the field of electronic marketing, revealed the scenes of the huge suhoor, saying: "Suhoor is normal and there is nothing special, and the number is huge because it is suhoor for 13 people, and each person paid 1200 pounds."

In a statement to "Masrawy", Mahmoud expressed his dissatisfaction with the value of the service, which exceeded 40% and reached 5,000 pounds of the value of the bill, which prompted him to publish the image of the bill on one of the groups on social media.

As for the ingredients of suhoor, Mahmoud Al-Badri said: "It consists of beans, ta'mia, eggs, yogurt, tea and coffee, and the price of a cup of tea reached 50 pounds."
