China News Service, April 14. According to Hong Kong's "Sing Tao Daily", the Hong Kong Consumer Council received 2,669 online shopping complaints from January to March this year, a sharp increase of 82% compared to the 1,463 cases in the same period last year.

The Consumer Council reminds the public to visit reputable shops or sellers. If they choose the "cash on delivery" method, they must check the goods before paying.

According to reports, the Hong Kong Consumer Council received more than 2,600 online shopping complaints in the first quarter of this year. Some of the cases involved sellers receiving money to buy king crabs, and some people did not receive food after paying for them. During the period, filter effects are used, causing the illusion of glittering and dazzling jewelry to attract buyers.

The Consumer Council stressed that it will strive to mediate online shopping disputes to protect consumers' rights and interests. If the case involves criminal elements, it will be referred to law enforcement agencies for investigation.

Facing the increasing number of online shopping complaints, Ho Ying-fu, Chief Director of the Complaints and Consultation Department of the Hong Kong Consumer Council, reminded the public to visit reputable stores or sellers. Members of the public should carefully consider whether to receive and pay for the goods. If they wish to lodge a complaint, they can contact the Consumer Council, which will try its best to mediate. Once the case has criminal elements, it will be referred to the law enforcement agencies for investigation.
