Saudi Arabia: Demands for surveillance cameras in the classroom to compensate for the absence of teachers

Yesterday, hundreds of students attended the funeral of the student "Abdullah", the victim of the brawl that took place at Granada Intermediate School in Jeddah on Sunday.

 With his burial, parents’ demands escalated to the need to install surveillance cameras in classrooms to reduce negative practices and compensate for teachers’ absence from classes. A number of parents demanded announcing the results of the investigation that was conducted in the incident that occurred in the absence of the classroom teacher.

And the Okaz website published that an investigation was opened in this regard, especially that the lessons are consecutive in Ramadan, and there are no differences in time like the rest of the months.

A number of officials from the Department of Education and a group of teachers and educators prayed for the student Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, and the Director of Jeddah Education conveyed condolences and sympathy to the student's family.


It is reported that the Jeddah police reported a quarrel between two 15-year-old Saudi students at Granada Intermediate School, and one of them died.


And a video clip, which showed the cohesion of hands between the students before the dead student fell and his colleagues tried to rescue him before carrying him towards a supervisor, where he underwent an attempt to artificial respiration, while the Red Crescent was called, but he died instantly.

The incident is still under consideration by the Public Prosecution to reveal its circumstances, determine the causes of death, and find out all the parties involved.
