While the candidate Macron plans, in the event of re-election, to condition the RSA "on a minimum of activity", this allowance remains essential for its beneficiaries.

Without it, Lætitia, single mother of two children, would not be able to live properly: “We are extremely lucky to have the RSA in our country, she rejoices.

But that doesn't solve everything either."

Solidarity grocery store and Secours populaire

With her housing assistance and the RSA, she indeed receives "about 1,100 euros".

But once the APL has been paid to the lessor, the rent and energy payments, "I have between 150 and 200 euros left depending on the month, with which I buy food and a little fuel (20 euros per week),” she says.

What "saves" her family is that Lætitia does her food shopping in a solidarity grocery store and at the Secours populaire, where the financial contribution is only four euros: for this sum, she obtains basic products such as milk, oil, sugar, coffee, a little fruit and vegetables depending on what they have, cereals, preserves”.

Listen to her describe her fragile daily life in this video from our partner Brut.
