A rare octopus "Amidako" is hung on a set net in Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture, and is exhibited at the Katsurahama Aquarium in Kochi City.

According to the aquarium, "Amidako" is a kind of octopus that lives in the warm open sea, and is characterized by having mesh-like folds on the surface of the body.

On the morning of the 11th, a set net in Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture, was found to have an Ocythoe tuberculosis about 60 cm in size and was brought to the aquarium.

It is rare for Ocythoe tuberculosis to be caught alive, and there are very few cases of breeding in Japan, and all of them survived for only 3 to 4 days, so the detailed ecology is unknown.

Visitors were observing the ball-shaped curled oythoe tuberculosis.

A woman in her twenties who visited with her family from Chiba Prefecture said, "It's a cute and mysterious creature. I'm glad I saw it."

Mr. Daiki Urakawa, the keeper, said, "I was surprised because it was my first time to see Ocythoe tuberculosis. It is the first time in the 91-year history of the aquarium to breed Ocythoe tuberculosis. I want you to live longer. "
