Last October, JR East announced the results of an investigation into a fire that broke out at a JR substation in Warabi City, Saitama Prefecture, which is believed to be caused by an excessive current flowing into a transformer with a shorted electric wire.

Last October, a fire broke out at the "Warabi Substation" of JR East in Warabi City, Saitama Prefecture, and it became impossible to supply power. Has been affected.

Regarding this fire, JR East set up a review committee to proceed with the investigation and announced the results on the 12th.

According to this, some pressure was applied to the transformer wire and it short-circuited, and the safety device that detected the accident and cut off the current did not work.

For this reason, it is believed that an excessive current flowed into the transformer, causing a fire and spreading around.

As a measure to prevent recurrence, we are making repairs such as making the transformer wire difficult to short-circuit.

JR East says, "We will steadily implement the measures summarized this time, and make further efforts to secure safe and stable transportation and restore the trust of our customers."
