Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam… These groups have become emblematic of an era (the 90s), of a city (Seattle) and of a genre (grunge).

Three members of these cult formations have composed a new album, announces

Pitchfork

, prepared in the most total secrecy, and baptized precisely…

3rd Secret

, like the name of this new group.

Krist Novoselic, bassist of Nirvana, Kim Thayil, guitarist of Soundgarden, and Matt Cameron, drummer of Pearl Jam, have recruited the talents of two singers, Jillian Raye and Jennifer Johnson.

Independents

The "supergroup" recorded the album in three sessions (as luck would have it) and hired the services of Jack Endino, one of grunge's most legendary producers.

3rd Secret recorded their album completely independently and for the moment it is only available on download or streaming platforms and on the band's website.

For fans of Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, don't expect to listen to only a grunge revival, since these eclectic musicians have decided to broaden their horizons, as evidenced by listening to the 11 tracks of this first try. .
