Urgent action in Jordan due to a mistake that sparked a wave of resentment

The inscription of the name of a companion on the containers in the Sharhabil bin Hasna area of the Jordan Valley sparked a wide wave of condemnation, and social media platforms were buzzing with the incident, which necessitated an urgent official move.

According to the pictures circulated, the municipality quoted the name of the companion Sharhabeel bin Hasna and engraved his name on the "new containers", which angered many.

Activists circulated a picture of one of the containers with the name of the companion imprinted on it, which is the approved name for the municipality of Sharhabeel bin Hasna, located in the Northern Jordan Valley.

According to a number of local media, citizens demanded that the municipality and the factory acknowledge their mistake and apologize, with the need to remove the name from the containers, which constitutes an insult to the name of the companion.

The mayor of Sharhabeel bin Hasna, Muhammad Al-Maraiha, confirmed that the "waste containers" that were distributed with the name of the companion, Sharhabeel bin Hasna, were put forward and received during the management of the municipalities' committees and before the municipal elections.

He said that the 150 containers were in the municipality's warehouses, and 30 of them have been distributed, and they will be withdrawn and the name of the companion will be crossed out, and replaced with the name of the two areas affiliated with the municipality (Al-Karima and Wadi Al-Rayan), and holding those who received the containers and those who approved them accountable.

He added that he did not monitor the containers before they were distributed, and they are now located in the municipality square, and the name of the companion was hidden from them as a primary treatment.
