Kevin Spacey would like to be rid of the embarrassing lawsuit filed by Anthony Rapp.

The

American Beauty

actor was sued by the comedian in 2017, causing a chain reaction and a series of accusations that, in a way, brought about the downfall of Kevin Spacey, whose career was then flourishing, with a starring role in

the critically acclaimed

House of Cards .

Anthony Rapp claims he was sexually assaulted in the 1980s, when he was just 14, at the hands of a 26-year-old Kevin Spacey.

His testimony insisted that the actor touched his buttocks and attempted to have sex with him by lying on top of him.

Anthony Rapp only got out of it by managing to extricate himself from the embrace of the star.

Amazing defense

But according to Kevin Spacey's lawyers, quoted by Deadline, there is a flaw in this testimony: there could not be sexual assault insofar as the only contact with an "intimate" part of the alleged victim would concern the buttocks of 'Anthony Rapp.

But touching the buttocks could in no way be considered as an attempt at rape, since according to them, the contact only occurred to help the young boy settle on the bed.

A surprising line of defense, therefore, but that the advice of Kevin Spacey holds at all costs.

The interpreter of Frank Underwood continues to strongly deny having tried to have sex with Anthony Rapp, even if he had apologized at the time of the revelation of the facts.

A first complaint against the actor, filed in Massachusetts by a 19-year-old young man, was dismissed in 2019.
