A Tunisian actor proposes fixing Ramadan in December and accuses children: "They break their fast by stealing"

The Tunisian actor, Mohamed Al-Siyari, sparked a great controversy on social networking sites, after he suggested that fasting Ramadan be in the month of December (December) every year, instead of relying on the lunar month, and fasting in the summer sometimes, claiming that religion came as a mercy to people.

Muhammad Al-Siyari said during an interview with "Shams FM" radio, that if the timing of Ramadan was modified, "all people would fast," adding that "if there is a fatwa on the matter, there is no objection" to fasting Ramadan in December.

The actor also considered that the summer months are difficult for some children, which makes them "break their fast by stealing", wondering: "Is religion a mercy or a curse?"

But Al-Sayari sparked controversy among Tunisians, who said that the actor did not have enough knowledge of religion to make such statements, while others saw that he was trying to draw attention and provoke controversy.

It also angered the pioneers of social networking sites, as some considered him "unqualified to talk about matters of religion."

Commenting on his suggestion to make fasting in the winter, instead of fasting sometimes in the summer, one of the people on Twitter sarcastically said: "I suggest that the place of Hajj should be rounded up and made in Kairouan instead of the hardship of traveling to Mecca."

While he criticized the last hadith of Al-Sayari, expressing his fear that a "plaintiff of knowledge" would appear to give his opinion.

Despite the criticism that affected Al-Sayyari, the actor reappeared in another telephone interview with “Mosaine FM”, to confirm his conviction in his proposal, refusing to apologize for it, and suggesting that each country choose the month that every people fasts, adding, “Muslims do not agree on their religion.” originally".

Commenting on the wave of confusion that he created, Sheikh Al-Badri Al-Madani, one of the well-known Sheikhs in Tunisia, considered in a statement to Diwan FM radio that thinking about these topics is not forbidden, and it can be raised, and said, Al-Sayyari has the right to defend his point of view. Which he disagrees with and does not see as correct, pointing out that the periodicity of the month of Ramadan is a result of its association with the lunar months.
