For Irvine Welsh, the author of the novel

Trainspotting

whose film of the same name was adapted by Danny Boyle, the pill is struggling to pass.

The Scottish Conservative Party has unveiled a campaign poster directly inspired by "Choose Life", a dialogue present in both the book and the film.

This famous passage consists of an enumeration of propositions beginning each time with “choose…”, and the first of which is “choose life”.

Choose

In this poster, the Conservatives seek to denigrate the Independence Party (SNP) by listing some of the measures championed by this political party which won elections for the local Scottish Parliament last year.

“Choose another future.

Choose life without the SNP,” reads the slogan at the bottom of the Tories poster.

A recovery that really did not please Irvine Welsh, who has ideas unlike the Tories.

“Fuck you assholes,” wrote the angry author in a tweet, while relaying the poster of the Scottish Conservative Party.
