A video clip that showed a man chaining a dog and brutally torturing it to death sparked widespread anger in Egypt, which forced the authorities to intervene and arrest the perpetrator.
The video clip, which angered animal welfare associations, spread on social media, as it showed an Egyptian citizen shackled and brutally tortured a dog, prompting animal welfare associations to launch a campaign calling on the authorities to intervene and arrest him.
The information revealed that the incident occurred in the village of Samadoun, affiliated to the city of Ashmoun, in the Menoufia Governorate in the Egyptian Delta, indicating that the perpetrator was named Muhammad Lotfi Farag Abu Al-Enein, and he works as a farmer.
Lawyers and members of animal welfare societies also submitted reports to the Menoufia Security Directorate, where the authorities were able to identify and arrest the perpetrator, and a police report was issued to him.
In addition, according to the investigations, it was found that the dog died as a result of the torture he was subjected to, while the accused refused to disclose his motives behind torturing the animal to death.
In turn, Yasser Islam, Secretary of the Or Team Animal Life Association, who submitted the complaint to the prosecution with the help of the Kart Association, revealed that the dog tormentor committed the incident, as he admitted, "because he was a dog and caused impurity", in addition to that he was playing and having fun in his agricultural land and destroying some of his crops. .
He added, according to "Al Arabiya.net", that the son of the dog tormentor was the one who filmed and sent the video to a girl in the village with whom he relates a love story to brag about his father's heroism in front of her.
He also explained that the Public Prosecution decided to detain the accused for 4 days pending investigation.
