On April 9, 230,000 Chinese sturgeons were released to the Yangtze River in Yichang City, Hubei Province, and the number of large-sized Chinese sturgeons released reached a record high.

Since 1984, the China Sturgeon Research Institute of China Three Gorges Corporation has carried out 65 Chinese sturgeon release activities in succession, with a cumulative release of nearly 5.3 million animals.

The 2022 Yangtze Three Gorges Chinese sturgeon release activities are a series of activities. The Three Gorges Group released 250,000 Chinese sturgeons throughout the year, including about 10,000 Chinese sturgeons released on March 26, and about 230,000 on April 9. It will be released on June 6. Release about 10,000 tails.

Chinese sturgeon is the flagship species of rare fish protection in the Yangtze River and was listed as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2010.
