The Egyptian Public Prosecutor orders a speedy investigation into the murder of the Alexandrian priest

The Egyptian Public Prosecutor, Counselor Hamada El-Sawy, ordered the speedy completion of investigations into the murder of Arsanios Wadeed, a priest of the Church of the Virgin Mary in Muharram Bey, Alexandria.

The Public Prosecution received a notification of the arrest of the parents of a person who attacked the priest of the Church of the Virgin Mary in Muharram Bey with a white weapon while walking on the Corniche Road. The victim died in the hospital from his injuries as a result of that assault.

By submitting the matter to the Attorney General, he ordered an urgent investigation into the incident.

The Public Prosecution office immediately moved to examine the body, and found the injuries it had, and delegated the forensic doctor to sign a medical examination on it, stating the injuries and the cause of death. It also inspected the scene of the incident, and assigned the police to conduct urgent investigations into the incident.

The accused was brought before the Public Prosecution for questioning, after the people arrested him and seized him and the weapon he used, until the police forces arrived.

The Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram reported that he was being questioned, witnesses to the incident were being questioned, and investigations were being completed.

Egyptian media reported that a person stabbed a church priest with a white weapon in front of the Abu Heif beach gate in the Corniche Road area, east of Alexandria, which led to his death.
