The Egyptian Public Prosecution interrogated the accused in what was attributed to him of intentionally killing the victim, and he admitted to committing the incident, then returned and amended his confession, explaining that he had come to Alexandria a few days ago in search of work, after he moved from one governorate to another, and was staying on public roads, until he was found He took a knife in a garbage collector, so he kept it in defense of himself, then claimed that on the day of the incident, and after he saw the victim in front of him, he did not feel what he had committed against him, until he was surprised by his arrest, according to a number of local newspapers.

The accused was responding naturally to the prosecution’s questions, as the investigations included discussing the accused in the details of his social life, what he received from university education, and what books he reads for public education, but the accused claimed that he had previously suffered from psychological disorders about ten years ago, after which he entered a hospital Mental health to receive treatment, and that he sometimes loses control of his actions.

The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the accused for 4 days pending investigations, and obtained from the competent court a decision to place him under medical observation in a public hospital specialized in the treatment of mental and neurological diseases, to examine his mental condition, and to indicate the extent of his suffering from any mental or psychological disease or disease or not. Whether this disease may push him to commit such a crime as the subject of investigations, and he is bereft of his will.

The Public Prosecution also conducts extensive investigations with the accused's family and eligibility during those hours within the framework of the investigation procedures it takes in the case.

The prosecution heard the testimony of 17 witnesses to the incident, inspected the place where the crime was committed, reviewed the monitoring machines installed in its vicinity, and received the results of technical reports from the Forensic Medicine Authority and the Alexandria Poison Center regarding the anatomical characterization of the body of the victim, and examination of samples from the accused indicating the extent of his use of any narcotic substances .

 During the investigations, it was found that the victim, moments before the accident, was following the exit of his escorts from one of the gates of a beach, until the accused appeared carrying a plastic bag as he passed from among those present, heading to the victim.
