Egypt: Mosque imam stabbed after Tarawih prayers

The city of Kafr El-Zayat, which is affiliated to the Gharbia Governorate in Egypt, witnessed an incident against an imam and preacher of a mosque, after completing the Tarawih prayer.


The security forces received a notification from the police station of Kafr El-Zayat General Hospital about the arrival of Sheikh Sameh Haridi, imam and preacher of the Al-Sitt Zaki Mosque on Al-Jaish Street, with a cut wound and bruises all over the body.

And a security force from the Criminal Investigation Department moved to the scene of the incident, where it was found from the initial investigations that a lawyer had beaten him using a white “knife” weapon and a wooden stick “Shuma” after he finished performing Tarawih prayers, and after he left the mosque, which led to him sustaining a cut wound. and sporadic bruising.

It turned out that the causes of the incident were that the victim testified in a court case, regarding one of the problems he was a witness to, which prompted the accused to attempt to kill him and cause his injuries.
