Reading, speaking, showing images, and all of this far from digital screens… It is thanks to these gestures that parents and early childhood professionals transmit mastery of language to infants.

The first years of life are decisive for the learning of toddlers: a 4-year-old child from a privileged background already has 1,000 to 1,200 words compared to 500 to 600 for a child of the same age who grew up in a an underprivileged environment. 

Virtually absent from the programs of candidates for the French presidential election, early childhood remains a blind spot in public policy.

However, stimulating the awakening of babies would double their chances of entering university, according to an American study carried out over more than 40 years.
