Egypt .. Preventing a family from disposing of its money because of the shroud incident

The Economic Court in Egypt decided to uphold the decision to prevent the disposal of the Al-Marghaniyeh family's money, against the background of the Shroud incident in Ain Shams, which sparked widespread controversy.

According to "Cairo 24", the defendants are facing the famous case in the media in the name of the shroud case in the Ain Shams area, in which 34 people are accused of detaining a businessman, his son and his brother, photographing them while presenting the shroud, intimidating them by carrying firearms, and humiliating them by forcing one of them to kiss the feet of a woman, and confronting them. Police and pointing a gun at the head of the Ain Shams Investigations Department.

The investigations in the case revealed that one of the defendants and others of his family demonstrated force on workers in a Nile boat owned by the three victims, terrified and damaged those in it.

The police were informed of the incident and notified the investigation authorities, who ordered the arrest of the accused and bring them. Knowing that one of the accused had been kidnapped, and others with him, working on the boat out of revenge, mediators tried to end the conflict between the two parties, but they refused to reconcile between them.

The investigation authorities had ordered the detention of the accused in the case of presenting the shroud in Ain Shams, in Case 15945 of 2021 Ain Shams, pending investigations, before referring the accused in the case to trial, which sentenced them to 3 years in prison, before the sentence was reduced from two years.

Where the same circuit considered a final ruling accepting the appeal and reducing the sentence from 3 years to two years with work and obligating administrative expenses on 3 of the defendants in the case of presenting the shroud in Ain Shams, in their accusation in a case of defrauding some citizens, fraud and selling fake apartments.
