The epicenter was 22 kilometers away from Xingwen County, 29 kilometers away from Xuyong County, 32 kilometers away from Weixin County, Yunnan Province, 86 kilometers away from Yibin City, and 211 kilometers away from Chongqing City.

The average altitude within 5 kilometers of the epicenter was about 624 meters.
