A few days after his first showcase
Parisian, and because she had the feeling of seeing a great future blossom on the stage of the Flèche d'Or, Hortense Volle met the Belgian singer and composer K.Zia.
A velvety voice, a silky r'n'b tinged with soul, trap and dancehall, the portrait of a 29-year-old young woman whose first album,
Genesis
, impresses with her character and her maturity.

By itself, K.Zia unites Europe, Africa, America and the West Indies.
First because she was born in Brussels and grew up between the Belgian capital, France and the United States.
And then because she has Martinican roots through her father, Bernard Quental, acrobat on horseback and actor, and African roots through her mother, the Belgian-Congolese singer Marie Daulne, better known as Zap Mama.
Today, this young woman of barely 30 years old is based in Berlin and recently fell in love with Dakar, Senegal, where she directed the music video
JFMB (J'Fais Mes Bails)
And yes, K.Zia does "her leases", her own stuff.
She traces her path and shapes music in her image: very classy, plural and without complex!
After a first EP in 2018 (
Red
), a handful of clips with polished aesthetics that she mostly made and the first parts of Sampa The Great or Kota the friend, K.Zia has just released her 1st independent album,
Genesis,
a soul and r'n'b opus, tinged with French chanson, trap and dancehall.
An album sung in French and in English which impressed me by its character and its maturity.
A few days after his first showcase
Parisian at the Flèche d'Or and the feeling of having seen a great future blossom, so it was already under the spell that I had breakfast with him in a Parisian café on the Place de Clichy.
