  Reporter Wang Jiaoni

On February 1 this year, the first day of the Lunar New Year, Jia Changquan, a policeman from the Special Patrol Detachment of the Public Security Bureau of Weihai City, Shandong Province, suffered sudden cardiac death during a special mission.

The young life ended, but left behind a string of shining footprints.

"Since you have chosen this profession, you must make a name for yourself."

From the day he started working, Jia Changquan made up his mind.

One night in the early winter of 2010, Jia Changquan and his colleagues found a criminal gang stealing cables while on patrol. Four suspects panicked and abandoned their cars and fled separately.

During the pursuit, a suspect saw that he was chasing him, took out a dagger in an attempt to commit murder, and was thrown to the ground by Jia Changquan.

Seeing this, another accomplice rushed up and smashed Jia Changquan on the head with a flower pot during the fight.

Blood flowed down instantly. Although there was a brief fainting, Jia Changquan endured the severe pain and hugged the suspect tightly until he was able to subdue the suspect with his comrades.

In another arrest, the suspect shouted: I have AIDS!

Come here without fear of death!

Facing the threat of the criminal suspect, Jia Changquan rushed forward without hesitation.

After the physical examination confirmed that the suspect was indeed suffering from AIDS, Jia Changquan had to undergo relevant treatment and medical observation for several months until the risk of infection was completely ruled out.

Jia Changquan often said: "We must have a grateful heart. The masses are our parents, and we should always think of the masses and repay the society."

In June 2008, Jia Changquan carried out the traffic safety and security task of the transportation convoy of disaster relief materials from Weihai City to Sichuan.

He and his teammates led the team through Qinling Mountains in Shaanxi and Qipan Mountain in Sichuan, passing dangerous roads, detours, steep slopes and cliffs, avoiding landslides and rolling stone attacks several times, and traveling more than 4,300 kilometers day and night to successfully complete the task.

During the 9 days and nights he went to the disaster-stricken area in Sichuan, Jia Changquan took a nap in the car, and ate dry food in the car when he was hungry.

There is only one belief in his heart: to arrive early, the relief materials can be delivered to the people in the earthquake-stricken areas as soon as possible.

Jia Changquan once served as the "first secretary" in the village.

In 2015, Jia Changquan came to Guogezhuang Village, Mishan Town, Wendeng District, Weihai City as the "first secretary" of the village.

During his stay in the village, Jia Changquan coordinated and hardened 9 primary and secondary roads in the village, organized the renovation of more than 1,100 square meters of drainage ditches, built more than 1,700 meters of new flower walls, built a fitness plaza, introduced a garment processing factory, and restored the village-run stone factory.

From patrolling prevention and control, plainclothes counter-pickling to special tasks, from disaster relief in Sichuan to helping the people on the front line in villages, Jia Changquan gave warmth to others and left guilt to his family.

Jia Changquan's younger brother is also a police officer.

My younger brother recalled that my elder brother worked in Weihai for nearly 20 years and only returned home twice during the Spring Festival.

"This year, it was originally discussed that we would wear police uniforms and take a family photo with our family. Now, this wish will never come true." Jia Changquan's younger brother was full of reluctance and regret.

For 21 years in the police, Jia Changquan has been on the front line bravely, fulfilling the mission of people's public security for the people, and has been awarded the first-class merit, the second-class merit, and the third-class merit 3 times. life.
