Morocco: Arrest of people suspected of involvement in human organ trade

Moroccan police have arrested four people suspected of being linked to a network "active in trafficking in human organs" outside Morocco, according to a statement by the General Directorate of National Security. They were referred to the Public Prosecution Office in Casablanca yesterday.

The arrest of the suspects came as a result of investigations about an “advertisement published on social media, offering services to remove human organs, specifically kidneys, in private clinics located outside Morocco in exchange for significant sums of money in foreign currencies,” according to the same source.

He referred to the continuous efforts to "diagnose and arrest all foreign and Moroccan participants and shareholders involved in the commission of these criminal acts", as this type of case is rare in Morocco, according to what was published by "Sky News".
