The French civil aviation authority is investigating a serious incident when a Boeing 777 landed in Paris, in which the pilots lost control of the plane.

A safety investigation had been initiated due to control instability, course fluctuations and problems with instrument operation on the final approach, the authority said in Paris on Wednesday.

The machine's flight recorder and the voice recording of the crew were evaluated.

The Air France plane, coming from New York, had canceled the landing in Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle the day before, had gone through and then landed safely in a second attempt.

As the newspaper "Le Parisien" reported, the aircraft was at an altitude of around 370 meters when the pilots decided to go around.

The newspaper published an audio recording of the pilots' communications, one of whom shouted "stop, stop" to the other after an alarm signal.

Shortly thereafter, he reports to the tower of "a problem with the flight controls, the plane did pretty much everything".

No people were harmed in the incident.

According to the newspaper, Air France described the reaction of the pilots as a standard procedure for which crews of all airlines would be trained.
