China News Service, Hong Kong, April 6 (Reporter Han Xingtong) The 2022 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (referred to as the Diploma, which is equivalent to the Mainland college entrance examination) will be held on April 22. The HKDSE will be held at the Penny's Bay Community Isolation Facility Set up a special examination room for close contacts and confirmed candidates to take the examination.

This is the first time in the nearly three years since the outbreak of the epidemic that the HKDSE has allowed confirmed candidates to sit for the exam.

The Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government said in a reply to a reporter from China News Agency on the 6th that the Education Bureau will set up a special examination room at the Penny's Bay Isolation Center for non-diagnosed candidates who need to be quarantined to sit for the examination. If they choose to go to the Penny's Bay Isolation Center to take the test, the Education Bureau will also arrange point-to-point anti-epidemic taxis to pick them up.

The arrangement also applies to candidates who are diagnosed on the test day.

According to the procedures announced by the Education Bureau, after the candidates arrive at the examination room by anti-epidemic taxis, the staff will divert the candidates to the designated area to register the candidates’ ID cards and temporarily store their luggage according to whether they are positive cases or close contacts, and then take the candidates to the test center. Independent examination unit.

If a candidate is late due to traffic problems, the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) will handle it as appropriate and postpone the examination start time appropriately.

Kang Chen Cuihua, Deputy Secretary-General of the Education Bureau, said that he understands that candidates infected with the virus may have different physical conditions every day. Therefore, the Education Bureau allows them to decide whether to take the test on the test day. Once they make a choice, they cannot be changed.

If candidates fail to sit the exam, they can apply to the HKEAA for a result assessment.

Kang Chen Cuihua said frankly that this arrangement is challenging, because it involves both confirmed and close contact candidates, and it is voluntary, so it is difficult to estimate the number of candidates in Penny's Bay.

She also mentioned that the Education Bureau expects that the Penny's Bay examination room will require a large number of examination personnel. She appealed to all walks of life to actively participate and assist in invigilating the examination. The Education Bureau will provide the examination personnel with a full set of protective clothing and relevant epidemic prevention training to ensure their safety. .
