A few days before the first round of the presidential election, the society of journalists of France 2 challenges the president and candidate Emmanuel Macron.

In question of this unprecedented action: the absence of their antenna of the candidate to his own succession, following his refusal of all the invitations of the chain.

The first round of the presidential election will take place on April 10.

Monday, four days before the election, journalists from France 2 deplore the absence of candidate Emmanuel Macron on their antenna.

The channel's political program,

Elysée

2022,

will be held again on Tuesday evening.

This is the last issue before the presidential election.

The President of the Republic is the only one of the 12 candidates in the running to refuse to participate in this political meeting, carried by Léa Salamé and Laurent Guimier.

The relatives of Emmanuel Macron justify this absence by a problem of agenda by specifying that the candidate has "no problem with France 2 nor with the public service".

In fact, Emmanuel Macron has refused all invitations from the public channel since the start of the campaign.

While accepting those of competing chains.

An 8 p.m. that would displease the president

The society of journalists of the chain therefore challenged the president candidate on Monday in an open letter.

"Mr. Macron, why are you refusing France 2's invitations?" they ask him.

"You who plan to abolish the license fee, and therefore to deprive public broadcasting of its main means of subsistence and independence, why don't you come and answer questions from journalists from France 2?"

According to information from our colleagues from

Télérama

, this absence of the candidate on France 2 could be explained by Emmanuel Macron's disagreement with the editorial line of the 8 p.m. newspaper, which he would consider too declining.

Still according to

Télérama

, the president would not appreciate the channel's flagship interviewer, Anne-Sophie Lapix, known for her pugnacity.
