While the State has just launched a call for tenders for an experiment in the collection of green algae at sea, the phenomenon of "green tides" and its dangerous hydrogen sulphide fumes persists on land.

Convinced that the solution lies in an environmental injunction with the courts, law students decided to participate in a “mock trial”…

"Residents give up going to the beaches because of the danger"

As part of this initiative launched by the

Wild Legal

association (which aims to promote the rights of nature), Raphaël, Luc, Jordan and Lyslou set out to collect testimonies from residents of the bay of Saint-Brieuc: "We met people who confessed to us that they had given up going to the beaches because of the danger that the phenomenon of green tides presents for human health”, assures one of them.

"The next step for us, underlines Jordan, is to transcribe this reality on the ground in our request, to implement all the legal means at our disposal to try to observe how we will be able to incur responsibilities in order to reduce the effects on biodiversity and human health”.
