A round table is to be organized on Wednesday between the management of the Orleans hospital (Loiret), union representatives and the mayor of the city.

A crisis unit was also set up on Monday to deal with the situation in the emergency department.

Patients now have only restricted access to it because of the lack of staff, reports France Bleu Orléans.

An “unacceptable” closure

Management has indeed decided to ask patients, even in distress, to contact 15 to find out where to go before going to the emergency room.

Dorine Lemasson, CGT delegate from the hospital, deemed this closure “unacceptable” in a department where access to city doctors is often difficult.

“The staff is really suffering, they are at a point of no return, denounced the trade unionist.

These personnel are indeed arrested for a few days, but they may not return”.

This Monday, two nurses were present in the emergency room, against ten usually.

A nurse's aide was working.

They are seven normally.
