The first comment of the Egyptian government on the presence of chocolate containing “hashish” in the markets

A source within the Egyptian Ministry of Supply commented on his post by the former president of Cairo University, Dr. Gaber Nassar, regarding the presence of the poppy plant in the ingredients of a chocolate product imported from abroad.

And the "Cairo 24" website quoted the source as saying: "We will launch a campaign tomorrow by withdrawing samples from one of the malls and supermarkets, to determine the reality of the presence of hashish in the chocolate or not."

And the source added that if the percentage of cannabis inside the chocolate is found, all legal measures will be taken, until the situation is legalized, and all legal measures are taken towards the store.

He added: "We must make sure of the matter completely, as the product is imported from abroad, which negatively affects import and export, in order to avoid the incident of seizing coating components in the cheese industry, which shook public opinion several months ago, an incident denied by the National Authority For food safety, as it directly affected the export of the cheese product abroad.

And the former president of Cairo University, Dr. Gaber Nassar, wrote through his personal account on the social networking site Facebook: “A long time ago, many people complained to me, including those who occupy important positions and jobs, some of which require the authorities to which they belong to suddenly analyze drug use, and it is clear from the results of the analysis that Their samples tested positive for cannabis.

And the former president of Cairo University added in his publication: “This exposes them to severe penalties, up to dismissal from their job, even though they do not even smoke cigarettes, adding: By chance I discovered that chocolate is sold in markets, major malls, and various petrol stations, the ingredients of which contain a percentage of poppy. This is something that has become permissible in most European countries and America.”
