On the afternoon of April 1, a construction accident occurred at the Southeast Taiwan Cement Plant. Its cement storage silo hit the power tower, causing the power tower to collapse. Taipower's line was disconnected, and it pressed the high-speed rail tram line, causing the high-speed rail power to be interrupted.

Zuoying-Tainan was suspended for about 7 hours, affecting more than 100 "dual railways" (high-speed rail, Taiwan Railway) and over 100,000 people.

The Taiwan High-speed Railway Company set up an emergency response center immediately after the accident. High-speed railway personnel entered the site for emergency repairs. The repairs were completed at 10:40 p.m. and the two-way operation resumed. The Taiwan Railway was also powered on at 8:51 p.m. open to traffic.
