As April 3 is a public holiday, the Returning Officer will start accepting forms at 9:00 am on April 4.

  The sixth-term chief executive election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is the first chief executive election after the improvement of the electoral system. It is scheduled to be held on May 8.

  In accordance with the provisions of the Election Procedure (Election of the Chief Executive) Regulation (Cap. 541J), candidates must submit the completed nomination form in person at City Hall, 3 Edinburgh Place, Central, Hong Kong during normal office hours during the nomination period. to the Returning Officer.

  As April 15-16 is a public holiday, the deadline for submitting the nomination form is 5pm on April 14.

  Any Hong Kong permanent resident who is a Chinese citizen, has no foreign right of abode, has reached the age of 40, and has ordinarily resided in Hong Kong for a continuous period of not less than 20 years is eligible to be nominated as a candidate.

  The nomination of each candidate shall be made by not less than 188 Election Committee members, which shall include not less than 15 Election Committee members from each of the 5 constituencies of the Election Committee.
