A year and a half ago, the actor was diagnosed with lymphoma and immediately started treatment.

A health glitch that had paused the production of his new series,

The Old Man

, for many months.

"I went through a year and a half in this weird dream and then I came back,"

The Big Lebowski

star told Deadline.

But despite his recovery, the comedian stayed as close to the show's cast as he could.

“He was always available,” assured Amy Brenneman.

Same story on the side of John Lithgow for whom Jeff Bridges' illness took on a very special resonance given that his own brother had suffered from a similar illness.

“Jeff has a huge heart.

You don't feel like you're working with an actor.

You feel like you're working with a friend,” John Lithgow said.

The Old Man

series

is based on Thomas Perry's best-selling novel of the same name.

The story centers on Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges), an ex-CIA who evolves outside the system when he is chased by an assassin, which forces him to dive back into his past.
