"Twitter" publishes a confusing tweet... and no one knows if it is true or "April Fool's"!

With a short tweet of a few words that puzzled millions of blue sparrow followers, Twitter revealed through its official account yesterday evening a long-awaited feature.

The social networking giant tweeted, saying it was working on a button to edit tweets.

In response to a question about whether the tweet was just a joke, Twitter clarified in a statement that it "cannot confirm or deny", promising details and clarifications later.

While the tweet sparked ridicule at times and criticism at times, some commentators considered that such an amendment would ignite a storm and several problems among users, while others confirmed that it was just a "lie" on the occasion of the first of April.

It is noteworthy that other social media platforms, including Facebook, have for years allowed users to modify what they post, which made some Twitter activists feel baffled by the lack of this feature.

The option to edit the tweet allows platform users to correct tweets if, for example, they posted wrong information, and later realized that, or even made a typo or simply wanted to edit what they wrote.
