A doctor explains how to use insulin with fasting.. and reveals the most prominent signs of low sugar and how to treat it

The Saudi family doctor, Dr. Saud Al-Shehri, revealed the method of using insulin with fasting, and the signs of hypoglycemia.

Al-Shehri said, in a video he posted on his Twitter account, "A diabetic, especially at the beginning of Ramadan, should analyze regularly, especially before work, after returning from work, before suhoor and before breakfast."

He pointed out: “The numbers are the right of the readings. The doctor can accurately determine the patient’s dose,” noting: “If we suppose that he analyzed before 9 am before work, and found that he had 80 sugar, he might have to break the fast, and the number that we shouldn’t sugar drops from is 60, but now it is still At the beginning of fasting, it will often come down more than that.

He pointed out: “If he analyzes at any time, and finds that sugar is below 60 here, he must break the fast. As for insulin medications, he takes a dose before breakfast and a dose before suhoor,” noting: “He who takes it before breakfast takes what he used to take before breakfast before breakfast.” Ramadan, and he who takes it before suhoor only takes half of it, and he who used to take it, it was said, did not take it during Ramadan.”

And he added, "For the mixed insulin, the same thing works, and the long-acting insulin he used to take before bedtime, he takes it with breakfast and decreases 30% of the dose."

And Al-Shehri said, according to the “observatory”: “The most important signs of low sugar are a feeling of lethargy, dizziness, sweating, heart palpitations, tingling in the lips, hunger and a sad psyche, and its treatment is to take some sweets, and again after 10 minutes if it remains under 60.”
