World Cup 2022 draw: Senegal with Qatar, Cameroon challenges Brazil

The draw for the 2022 FIFA World Cup placed African champions Senegal in the pool of host country Qatar.
Tunisia will challenge France, the reigning world champion.
Ghana will find Uruguay which had painfully eliminated them in 2010. As for Morocco, placed with Belgium, Canada and Croatia, they were not spoiled.
Same observation for Cameroon, in the group of Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland.

In 233 days, we will know if this April 1 draw was a good deal or a bad joke for the five African teams involved in the 2022 FIFA World Cup (November 21-December 18).
For now, Senegal, champion of Africa, seems to be the best off.
The Senegalese will certainly face the host country, Qatar, the Netherlands, a great nation, and Ecuador, which we will have to be wary of, in group A. But their group in 2018 (Japan, Poland, Colombia) was more raised.

Tunisia with France
For Tunisia, the perspective is a little more blurred.
The Tunisians certainly know that they will challenge France, the reigning world champion, and Denmark, a regular at the World Cup.
But their last adversary (Australia, United Arab Emirates or Peru) will not be defined until June, after an intercontinental dam between a representative of Asia and South America.

Ghana, on the other hand, will face familiar teams.
André Ayew's Ghanaians had already faced Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal in 2014 (2-1 defeat).
As for the Uruguayans, they eliminated the Black Stars after a legendary quarter-final in 2010. South Korea, on the other hand, will be a new opponent for the West African team.
Difficult draw for Cameroon and Morocco
For the third time after 1994 and 2014, Cameroon will play against Brazil in the World Cup.
A big challenge for the country which has just hosted the African Cup of Nations.
Cameroonians thus find themselves in a group almost identical to that of 2018 for Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland (Costa Rica was in their place).
Finally, Morocco is perhaps the least spoiled with Croatia, Belgium and Canada, the only affordable team in the Atlas Lions group.
