Here more than a dozen small islands are connected by small bridges, forming a water village scenery surrounded by blue waves, known as "Jade in the Lake".

In early April 2017, the news of the establishment of Xiongan New Area in Hebei was just released.
At that time, 70-year-old Wang Ga was cutting dried lotus leaves into small pieces to make tea for tourists, while his wife Li Xiaosai was cooking fish stew in an iron pot.
Hearing people talk about Xiongan New Area, he said excitedly, "This is definitely a good thing."
Today, the old couple, who have worked hard for half their lives, have handed over the business to their son.
"Every day is just walking around, playing chess, and chatting with the villagers." He only helps when his son is too busy during the tourist season.
Wangjiazhai, a village built in Dianzhong for thousands of years, has always followed the production and lifestyle of "men, fishermen and women weaving".
In 2001, the local area carried out the "Tourism to Revitalize the County" plan, and the village began to vigorously develop tourism.
Like many villagers, the old couple opened a fishing village homestay. For more than ten years, the business has been good.
The establishment of the Xiongan New Area has added impetus to the development of the local tourism industry.
Wang Ga said that in 2019, the family's annual income has reached 300,000 to 400,000 yuan (RMB, the same below), and after 2020, even if it is affected by the new crown epidemic, the income will be "passable".

The improvement of Baiyangdian water quality is Wang Ga's most profound memory in recent years.

Baiyangdian Lake is the ecological barrier of Xiongan New Area.
While strictly controlling external sources and preventing a drop of sewage from entering the Dian, the local area also strengthened internal source control, carried out pollution control in Dian District and its surrounding areas, and integrated environmental problems such as rural sewage, garbage, and toilets in 78 villages including Wangjiazhai. integrated system management.
Official information shows that since 2019, the water quality of Baiyangdian has achieved from Class V to Class IV and partial Class III.
Today, Baiyangdian carp, black carp, garfish and other indicator fish have reappeared, and the total number of wild birds has reached 230.
Last year, Wangjiazhai opened a "green smart microgrid", which enabled the village to meet the supply of green and clean energy through photovoltaics, power generation fans, and energy storage devices, and no longer rely on small ships to transport coal into the village.
This year, the newly built docks, squares and pavilions in the village have become the most popular places in the village... Wang Ga will also recommend tourists to visit the neighboring Rongcheng County, where large-scale construction is underway and "the changes are even greater" .
Statistics from Wangjiazhai show that after the establishment of Xiongan New Area, tourism has become the leading industry in the village.
Up to now, there are 100 homestays operated by the village, and about 700 of the more than 2,100 permanent residents in the village are engaged in the tourism industry.
In 2019, the tourism income of the whole village once reached 20 million yuan.
In the past five years, the rapid development of Xiongan New Area has made Wang Ga, 75, full of confidence in the future.
He said that the epidemic will definitely pass, and he believes that the construction of the new district will get better and better, and the business in the village will also be better.
