No surprise for the African teams qualified for the 2022 World Cup. During the draw, scheduled for April 1, 2022 in Doha, they will be in the two pots bringing together the less upscale countries, with the three nations not yet qualified for the final phase.

Here are the pots in question:

POT 1:

Qatar, Brazil, Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Spain, Portugal

POT 2:

Mexico, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Uruguay, Switzerland, United States, Croatia

POT 3: Senegal

, Iran, Japan,

Morocco

, Serbia, Poland, South Korea,

Tunisia

POT 4: Cameroon

, Canada, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia,

Ghana

, European play-off winner, Intercontinental play-off winner 1, Intercontinental play-off winner 2

Tomorrow, from 4 p.m. UT (6 p.m. in Paris and 7 p.m. in Doha), the hands of football glories like Cafu and Lothar Matthäus will first draw the ball from Qatar, the host country, which will automatically go into group A of the tournament.

Then they will take the seven other balls from pot 1, the eight from pot 2, those from pot 3 and finally those from pot 4.

Senegal with France?

Please note, immutable rule: two teams from the same confederation (Africa, South America, Asia, etc.) cannot be in the same group, except for Europe and its 13 representatives at the 2022 World Cup. Impossible therefore that Senegal and Cameroon are in the same group during this 22nd World Cup.

On the other hand, the Senegalese African champions can very well end up with the French world champions, the Germans who won the 2014 World Cup and the winner of one of the intercontinental play-offs... Leave room for the imagination while waiting for the ceremony.

WORLD CUP 2022: QUALIFICATIONS STILL IN PROGRESS

Rarely, the draw for the World Cup will take place before we know all the teams qualified for the final phase (November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar).

29 countries have won their place for the World Cup.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis and the war in Ukraine, three tickets remain to be allocated.

In Europe, the match of the Ukrainians against the Scots has been postponed to June.

Its winner will face Wales in a decisive match.

On June 13 or 14, Costa Rica will face New Zealand and Peru will face the United Arab Emirates or Australia, during two intercontinental play-offs.
