What did the White House comment on the "slap of Will Smith" and what is the position of the American president!

The White House finally had to answer on behalf of US President Joe Biden about the "Slap Will Smith" case during the Oscars Sunday night.

White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said: "I have no official comment from the White House regarding the altercation at the Oscars."

She added that the president did not watch the ceremony.

On Tuesday, Hollywood star Will Smith issued a statement about the incident at the 2022 Academy Awards, after Smith slapped host Chris Rock, after the latter made a joke about Smith's wife.

But Will Smith's wife, who is also an actress, was silent but this silence did not last as she wrote a post that was deemed to be related to the incident.

Will Smith's wife posted a very brief message on her verified account on the "Instagram" website, in which she said: "This is a season of recovery, and I am here for it."

The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the body behind the Oscars, said it had asked Will Smith to leave the Oscars after he slapped Rock, but he refused.

"We asked Smith to leave the party, but he refused, and we could have handled the situation differently," the academy said in a statement.

And American media, quoting sources who attended the ceremony, said that the president of the academy, David Rubin, and its general manager, Dawn Hudson, were the ones who told Smith to leave the ceremony, but he refused.

The two officials in the academy expressed their anger at the slap, and it came to screaming and verbal altercations with the American actor behind the scenes, after the accident.

The academy's board of directors said on Wednesday it was looking into "disciplinary action against Will Smith for violating Academy policies, including inappropriate physical contact, abusive or dangerous behavior, and undermining the integrity of the Academy."

The statement indicated that the board of directors will decide during a meeting to be held on April 18 whether to take "disciplinary action" against the Hollywood star and the nature of this action, which could include suspending Will Smith from the Academy or even expelling him from it.
