Sharjah Safari receives 23,000 visitors in its first month

Sharjah Safari has received 23,000 visitors since the inauguration of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the project, which is considered the largest safari in the world outside Africa.

Since the first day of its opening, Sharjah Safari, located in the Al Bardi Reserve in the Central Region, has become a stop for visitors to learn about more than 120 species of animals that live in Africa, with more than 100,000 African sage trees.

The Chairman of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, said: "(Sharjah safari) is a national treasure, and is considered one of the titles of sustainable development, and it is the most important event in the authority's spanning over many years of work to protect the environment, preserve nature, and ensure the availability of resources for generations. It also constitutes an unparalleled natural destination in the region.”

She added, "Sharjah safari opens up endless horizons for lovers of the environment and nature, and provides those who desire and have passion in this regard the opportunity to learn, entertain and discover through a trip to Africa and the animal world."

Sharjah Safari includes 12 different environments, representing the life and terrain in Africa and the animals and birds that live in it. Scattered along the eastern coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean.

As for the Sahel region, it is represented by deserts, pastures and diverse wildlife. It extends in Africa from the Atlantic coast of Mauritania in the west, to Eritrea and the Red Sea in the east. The "savanna" region in eastern and southern Africa extends from the coast in the north to the Kalahari in the southwest. This African tropical grassland covers half the continent's area and is home to the largest concentration of biodiversity on Earth.

While the Serengeti region celebrates the largest migration of animals in the world every year, as large groups of herbivores migrate across the plains of the Serengeti, and works to attract predators and animals that feed on carrion, crossing the Mara River, where Nile crocodiles lie in the water Turbidity that is dangerous to migratory herbivores.

The Nkorongoro region, formed from an extinct crater, is a unique ecosystem and home to some of Africa's most famous species.
