The boss of French military intelligence will leave his post according to an internal source at the Ministry of the Armed Forces, citing "

 insufficient briefings

 " and a "

lack of mastery of subjects

" following the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

The Americans obtained very high quality intelligence on Russian preparations and had decided, several weeks before the invasion, to publish some of it in an attempt to put pressure on Vladimir Putin.

How to explain that France did not make the same analysis of the situation as the United States?

Some answers with Gérald Arboit, director of the intelligence studies team at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM).
