There was a deadly knife attack at a vocational school in Prague.

The alleged perpetrator attacked a teacher with a kind of bush knife, the Czech police said on Thursday.

The teacher succumbed to his injuries.

The attacker reportedly left his gun at the scene and fled, but was caught and arrested a little later.

Several hundred police officers and a helicopter were therefore involved in the successful search.

There was initially no official information about the background to the crime.

The head of the school told the CTK agency that the attacker was apparently a student at the facility.

Car mechanics, locksmiths, electricians and carpenters, among others, are trained at the vocational school in the Michle district of the Czech capital.
