On March 30, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Institute of Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences) released a new fossil discovery and research results saying that the research team of the institute first discovered early fossils in a Silurian stratum in Wuning County, Jiangxi Province. Two new genus fossils of the true armored fish, named "Junqing Qingshui fish" and "Hedgehog Anji fish", dated to about 438 million years ago, representing the oldest and most primitive fossil record of true armored fish so far.

This important research paper on ancient fish was recently published online in the international academic journal "Asian Geoscience".
