The family of
Bruce Willis
has just announced that the actor is leaving the cinema due to health problems.
"Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with
aphasia
, which is affecting his
cognitive abilities
," his eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, said in a statement shared on her social media.
"Bruce is leaving the career that has meant so much to him."

Aphasia is a language disorder
characterized by the inability or difficulty of communicating through speech, writing or mimicry and is due to brain damage.
"This is a very challenging time for our family
," the family statement continues.
"We are so grateful for his continued love, compassion and support. We are going through this as a strong family unit and we wanted to share it with his fans because we know how much he means to you, just like you do to him."
