In the Vienna Prater, the employee of a roller coaster died in an accident.

As the police reported on Wednesday, the woman crossed the rails of the ride and was hit by an approaching wagon.

Despite first aid, she died at the scene of the accident.

According to the operator of the roller coaster, which with its five loops and 1250 meters is the largest transportable roller coaster in the world, the 31-year-old woman was in a cordoned-off area to which she actually had no access.

The German operator and the Vienna Prater Association were shocked by the incident on Tuesday evening.

The roller coaster first went into operation at the Munich Oktoberfest in 1989.
