New developments in the case of the Lebanese “prosecutor of prophecy” and his partner, Carmen Shammas

New developments in the case of the Lebanese "prosecutor of prophecy", Nashat Munther, where the Appeal Public Prosecutor in Beirut called Ziad Abu Haidar to convict him on charges of claiming prophecy, as well as contempt and contempt for the Islamic religion in association with Carmen Youssef Kodeih, better known as Carmen Shammas.

One of the lawyers who filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution revealed that the file had been referred to the single criminal judge in Beirut, Abeer Safa, to try those accused of crimes against the Islamic religion and inciting sedition, according to the Penal Code, which punishes convicts with imprisonment from one to three years.

"The defendants were released with a residency deed after they pledged not to publish any offensive recordings, while referring them to trial," Mohamed Ziad Jafail told Sky News Arabia.

The State Security Directorate, based on the order of the Discriminatory Public Prosecutor, Judge Ghassan Oweidat, summoned the defendants, Nashaat Munther and Carmen Shammas, to investigation in early February, and after the investigation referred the file to the Appeal Public Prosecution Office in Beirut.

Sources told "Sky News Arabia" that Munther "1981" and his profession is a musician, said in the initial investigations that he was a refugee in Germany, and was receiving some students at his home to participate in "meditation sessions."

According to the investigations, Munther was making money from YouTube by posting his clips on it, and he was also receiving between 200 and 500 dollars from his followers who watched meditation sessions at his home.

He denied that he claimed to be a "miracle maker", and said that he was treating cancer patients with herbs, and recording his episodes with his computer camera, while his partner Shammas was implementing a "montage" of the recording.

As for Shammas, who is mainly a media specialist in astronomy and horoscopes, preliminary investigation sources revealed that she identified herself as a “horoscope”, and said that she had agreed with the accused to record episodes on vegetarian diets and herbal treatment, while she denied her responsibility for making videos claiming prophecy and contempt. of the Islamic religion.

The accused explained that she "warned Munther not to discuss religious and political matters", and denied her relationship to the content of the videos that were published on social media, or that she received money from the recordings, but she admitted that she was implementing the montage from a technical point of view only.

Shammas said that she met Munther through social media, in matters related to "meditation and yoga" only.

A member of the Supreme Islamic Sharia Council, Judge Wael Shabaro, who submitted a report to the judiciary on behalf of the prophet’s claimant, said: “We were briefed on the allegation of the Public Prosecution’s Appeal in Beirut against Munther and Shammas based on the communication submitted by us, and this was expected, especially since the crimes stipulated in the alleged articles It is from the Penal Code fixed with videos, and there is no way to evade it.”

Shabaro added: "It seems that the accused Shammas, during the investigation, tried to appear as someone who did not know, while Munther was throwing all the blame on her."

It is reported that the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Abdel Latif Derian, had submitted a complaint to the Public Prosecution, with a second report submitted by Shabaro, Jaafil and his colleague, lawyer Noureddine Baalbaki.
