Due to rumors caused by the accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, the amount of fish landed in Fukushima Prefecture was only about 20% before the accident.

Under these circumstances, an administrative agency in Kasumigaseki, Tokyo, sold lunch boxes using local fish in an attempt to encourage the consumption of ingredients from disaster-stricken areas such as those produced in Fukushima Prefecture.

This was done by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry calling on Kasumigaseki's administrative agencies such as the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the 29th, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hagita tasted a lunch box using plenty of fish known as "Joban Expressway" such as flatfish kelp jelly caught off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture and thick fried anago.

In an attempt to encourage the consumption of ingredients in the affected areas of Fukushima, Miyagi, and Ibaraki prefectures, bento boxes will be sold for three days from the 28th to the 30th, and 3000 servings will be sold at 21 ministries and agencies.

According to the Fukushima Prefectural Fisheries Federation, the amount of fish landed in Fukushima Prefecture is only about 20% of the amount before the accident even last year due to the damage caused by the rumors of the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Minister Hagiuda said, "I think reconstruction is in the middle of the road, so I want to be close to him and support his life."

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry wants to help eliminate the damage caused by rumors.
