A tram named Strasbourg now runs in one of its twin cities Stuttgart, Germany.

On the occasion of 60 years of cooperation between the two cities, the tram was even "baptized" with water from the Ill, Alsacian river and tributary of the Rhine, this Tuesday by the mayor of Strasbourg Jeanne Barseghian, who s went there with a delegation.

Stuttgart, a city which, like the Alsatian capital, shares ambitions in the fight against global warming, wants to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. It has also been awarded the German prize for sustainable development this year.

The vineyard part

The capital of Baden-Württemberg also has its municipal vineyard, on 16 hectares in conversion to organic.

Also since Tuesday, a plot is now called “Strasbourg”, planted with Alsatian Riesling vines.

The first vintage is expected this summer.

It was also an opportunity for exchanges between the Weingut Stuttgart and the historic cellar of the Hospices Civils, of which several representatives were on the trip.
