A dispute over cooking oil escalated in a supermarket near Stuttgart.

According to the police on Friday, a group of five wanted to buy more bottles of cooking oil than the shop in Asperg in the Ludwigsburg district is currently selling due to the high demand per person.

Two men from the group therefore did not accept the quantity limit: According to the information, they first shouted at the cashier and then verbally threatened her with an act of violence when leaving the shop.

A 36-year-old employee then followed the group to their car to confront them with a rolling pin.

However, the two men from the group were not willing to talk and threw decorative stones from a stone bucket at the 36-year-old, the police reported.

A police spokeswoman could not say how many bottles of cooking oil the group wanted to buy.

The two aggressive men are now being investigated because of their threats.
