Putin claimed, among other things, that the Russian composers Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Rachmaninov had been removed from concert posters around the world, and that Russian authors and books had been banned.

Sweden's Minister of Culture Jeanette Gustafsdotter (S) has previously said that Sweden will not support the Russian government through cultural cooperation and a large number of cultural institutions have chosen to interrupt their exchanges with Russia.
