China News Service, Guangzhou, March 25 (Cai Minjie, Wu Xiaodan, Han Yurou) Recently, 61-year-old Xinjiang uncle Kurban (pseudonym) and his son-in-law arrived in Guangzhou from Kashgar, Xinjiang after a five-hour flight.

This is the first time Kurban has set foot on the land of southern Guangdong.

From Southern Xinjiang to Nanyue, his mood was not easy. Because of bladder cancer, he had to suspend his life as a welder and leave his hometown to receive treatment; but he was full of hope, because this time, the experts from Guangdong who had traveled far and wide were recommended by local doctors. I heard that it can not only help him perform a total surgery, but also save the suffering of long-term survival with a urine bag.

What he is looking for is Xu Ahbai, who has just returned to Guangzhou from his medical aid work in Xinjiang, the director of the Department of Urology at Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University.

Coming to the Urology Department of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, Kurban was very nervous. Although he could understand a little Chinese, he could not express his thoughts accurately.

At this time, Director Xu Ahbai, who had been in Xinjiang for one year, saw Kurban's unease, and asked another doctor from Kashgar to be a "temporary translator", so that he could have barrier-free with Kurban. Communication cleared his doubts and allowed him to receive treatment with peace of mind.

Combined with the past medical history and a series of preoperative examinations, on March 14, Xu Ahbai performed a neobladder in situ with sigmoid colon for Kurban.

In the past, bladder cancer patients needed to remove the entire bladder, and then take a section of ileum or colon to replace the bladder after treatment, create a urine opening in the abdomen, and then connect a urine bag to store urine. This urine bag needs to be carried for life.

However, Xu Ahbai skillfully used a section of the patient's sigmoid colon to create a "new bladder", which helped him get rid of the urine bag and urinate spontaneously like a normal person.

On March 23, Kurban's complexion, who was lying on the hospital bed, had returned to his rosy complexion.

He said that Guangzhou is like spring all year round, and when he is discharged from the hospital, he should go out for a walk and try the food here.

Also in Xinjiang, Xu Ahbai became attached to Zhou Tuo, who served as a "temporary translator" for Kurban.

Zhou Tuo is the attending doctor of the Department of Urology of the Second People's Hospital of Kashgar. He has listened to Xu Ah Bai Yuanjiang's lectures on site many times, and learned about the cutting-edge theories and technologies in the academic world.

Zhou Tuo said that at the time, he thought that it would be great if he could follow Director Xu to perform the operation and see the details of the operation with his own eyes. He did not expect that this little wish would soon come true.

On March 1, the day before Kurban arrived in Guangzhou, Zhou Tuo also came to Zhujiang Hospital for half a year of training with the recommendation of the director of the second hospital in Kadi and the help of Xu Ahbai.

"You can learn as much as you can, especially their 'stunts'." Before leaving, the director of the local hospital instructed Zhou Tuo.

As soon as Zhou Tuo, who was on a mission, came to Guangzhou, he worked at full speed and did not miss any learning opportunities.

On March 7th, he stood on the operating table of Zhujiang Hospital for the first time, and finally saw the operation technique he had seen in the operation teaching video. After the operation, he continued to read the book and search for information, and repeated the review to consolidate each step of the operation.

Although it has not been a long time, Zhou Tuo already feels that he has gained a lot.

Although thousands of miles apart, Zhou Tuo couldn't wait to share what he saw and learned with colleagues thousands of miles away.

Half a year later, his younger brother also came to Zhujiang Hospital for further study, continuing the relationship between Nanjiang and Nanyue.

According to reports, since Xu Ah Bai Yuanyuan has completed more than 100 fourth-level surgeries, he has guided local doctors to carry out more than 200 third-level and fourth-level surgeries, which has improved the service capability and level of the local urology department.

In order to leave the medical technology that he could not take away from the First Hospital of Kadi, Xu Ahbai changed from "blood transfusion" to "hematopoiesis". He referred to and learned from advanced domestic management experience, and re-arranged and made long-term plans for the development direction of the discipline.

After one year of assistance, the medical, teaching and research level of the Urology Department of the First Hospital of Kadi has been greatly improved in an all-round way.

In addition, he has also been sent to primary medical institutions and communities in Kashgar for many times to carry out various forms of project promotion such as free clinics, lectures, ward rounds and surgical demonstrations.

Now, in addition to being busy with outpatient clinics, surgeries, and ward rounds, Xu Ahbai also takes time out to give online lectures to colleagues in Xinjiang, sharing special cases and cutting-edge results with them.

"Although he has left his job in Kashgar, the connection with Xinjiang will not stop, and exchanges with them will continue." Xu Ahbai said.
