The fourth leaf

by Christophe Royer, published on March 17, 2022 by Éditions Taurnada.

His favorite quote:

Seen from the outside, despite the magnetic presence of Carole, who had become an even more ravishing young woman, their group was so inaccessible that it cooled the ardor of even the most motivated suitors.

Why this book?

  • Because a thriller always arouses more emotions and empathy

when it is inspired by real events and this is the case here.

After an excellent development of the genesis of the plot – with a reminder of the quartet's youth – the reader always wants to know more, which leads to swallowing the novel in a very short time.

It's not the first time I've read Christophe Royer and his style of writing is always so pleasant.

  • Because even if the "villains" are quite clearly defined

from the start of the plot, the author is not stingy with surprises.

The closer we get to the end, the more the pace quickens, becomes suffocating and suspenseful.

I took a lot of pleasure in reading this novel, even if I was horrified more than once by the content of the elements which give really chill in the back.
